Commendations awarded to the HFHR

In December 2014, during the closing ceremony of Złote Wachlarze (Golden Fans), the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights received a special commendation for all activities related to the protection of the rights of migrants.

The Złote Wachlarze contest is organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). The main goal of the contest is to give recognition to a person and an institution which significantly support the integration of migrants in Poland, stimulate the socio-economical development through migration and the development of good practices in migration management.

The award in the Person category went to Abulcadir Gabeire Farah, the president of the Foundation for Somalia, whereas the award in the Institution category was received by The Other Space Foundation.

The Selection Panel of the contest awarded also two special commendations for all activities related to the protection of the rights of migrants. Apart from the prize for the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, the jury awarded the special commendation to the Association for Legal Intervention.
