National Judiciary Council awards Justice System Merit Medal for Danuta Przywara

The National Council of the Judiciary of Poland has presented President of the HFHR Danuta Przywara with the Justice System Merit Medal – Bene Merentibus Iustitiae.

The medal award gala, which included speeches about the 100th anniversary of the reborn judiciary in Poland, was held on 28 September 2017 at the headquarters of the National Council of the Judiciary.

A justification for the bestowing of the medal to Danuta Przywara reads as follows: “In recognition of your involvement in defending the independence of courts and judges, the constitutional trias politica principle as well as the foundations of a democratic state ruled by law, the National Council of the Judiciary of Poland … has resolved to solemnly acknowledge your actions and award you the Justice System Merit Medal – Bene Merentibus Iustitiae.

“I accept this award not only as an expression of recognition of the hard work of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and the Helsinki Committee in Poland but also as the acknowledgement of actions for the judicial independence taken by all representatives of the civil society”, Danuta Przywara said.

Our heartfelt congratulations go to the President!
