Order of Polonia Restituta for Professor Wiktor Osiatyński

On 8 June 2011, President Komorowski decorated Professor Wiktor Osiatyński, a long-standing friend of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and the originator of the Strategic Litigation Programme, with the Commander’s Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order.

The President paid tribute to Professor Osiatyński’s extraordinary services for the development of the principles of a democratic state ruled by law, involvement in the strengthening of Polish civic society and achievements in the area of science and journalism.

The ceremony took place on 8 June 2011 during the sixth annual conference ‘Rights Beyond Frontiers – the Frontiers of Rights. Discussion based on the Wiktor Osiatyński’s book “Human Rights and Their Limits”‘, an event organised by the Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw.
