Publication of Supreme Court decisions

In December 2010, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and the Forum of Civic Development published the report ‘Public Availability of Judicial Decisions’. The report contains analysis and assessment of the law and practice of citizens’ access to judicial decisions.

One of the report’s recommendations is the call for publishing the entire case law of the Supreme Court on the Court’s website.

In May 2011, the President of the Supreme Court set up a team responsible for implementing the procedure for publication and deletion of any sensitive data contained in the rulings. The task of the team was to draft a report and submit it to the President within 12 weeks following the date of team’s appointment.

Accordingly, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights asked the President of the Supreme Court to disclose the results of the team’s work under the public interest disclosure procedure.
