Seminar “European Arrest Warrant in practice”

The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights has the pleasure of inviting attorneys and legal advisers to a seminar entitled “European Arrest Warrant in practice”, which will take place on Thursday, 8 September between 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm. at the registered office of Clifford Chance, Lwowska 19, Warsaw.

The seminar is an element of a European project “Beyond Surrender”, aimed at examining the practice of using the European Arrest Warrant (EAW) and the influence it has on the lives of wanted persons. The project is coordinated by the Fair Trials Europe, an organisation that specialises in the right to a fair trial. The initiative receives funding from the European Commission.

During the seminar, we would like to give a more accurate picture of the objectives of the project and identify the potential areas of cooperation with attorneys dealing with cases in which Polish courts issued an EAW. The main aim of the meeting will be to list and catalogue the problems connected with the use of the EAW, which professionals face in their everyday practice.

All persons interested in participating should email their applications to j.smetek[@]hfhr.org.pl before 1 September 2016.

The number of available places is limited.

Please provide information on whether you are handling cases in which an EAW has been used. We reserve the right to contact selected persons only.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at +48 (22) 556 44 45.
