Justice system for children – My lawyer, my rights final conference

The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and Human Rights Committee of the Polish Bar Association have the pleasure of inviting our readers to take part in the conference My lawyer, my Rights. Justice System for Children, devoted to the legal guarantees for children in conflict with the law and specifically to children’s access to the assistance of a lawyer.

The conference will take place on 22 May at the premises of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw (ul. Próżna 7/9), from 10 am to 4:15 pm.

The event will conclude the almost two-year project My lawyer, my rights – enhancing children’s rights in criminal proceedings in the EU, which was financed by the European Union and designed to map different aspects of the appropriate national implementation of two European Parliament’s and the Council’s directives that address the matters related to an individuals’ access to a lawyer in criminal proceedings (Directives 2013/48/EU and 2016/800). Apart from the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, the project has been implemented by non-governmental organisations from across Europe, members of the European Criminal Bar Association and juvenile justice experts.

The Ombudsman for Children is the honorary sponsor of the conference.
