Alternative Report on Tajikistan’s implementation of its obligations under Articles 1, 2, 12 and 13 of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment

This report has been prepared jointly with the NGO ‘Law and Prosperity’ (Pravo i Protsvetanye), which is the coordinator of the Legal Aid Group within the Civil Society Coalition against Torture and Impunity in Tajikistan,1 and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Poland.2 The conclusions presented herein are based on an analysis of strategic criminal proceedings conducted by the Coalition Against Torture in connection with complaints concerning torture or other illtreatment of detainees and persons deprived of their liberty by law enforcement agencies.
